KCB Bank Kenya has demonstrated an impressive streak in the ongoing Kenya Institute of Bankers (KIB) Interbank Sports held at the esteemed Kenya School of Monetary Studies and other selected venues.

In the women’s tug-of-war event, the KCB team exhibited their prowess, securing a resounding 2-0 victory over arch-rivals Equity Bank in the quarterfinals, setting the stage for an exhilarating semi-final clash against Central Bank of Kenya (CBK).

On the football front, Samuel Mwangi and Wyckliffe Owaka’s pivotal goals catapulted the KCB men’s football team to a thrilling 2-1 win over Bank of Baroda in a fiercely contested quarter-final match at the Kenya School of Monetary Studies (KSMS). With sights set on the upcoming semifinals, the team is gearing up to face off against a formidable NCBA side.

Captain Eric Oketch expressed the team’s preparation and strategy, emphasizing the importance of integrating young and hungry players into the roster to secure a competitive edge in the tournament.

“We have been preparing well for this edition of the KIB Interbank Sports. As KCB, we knew that the competition would be tough, so we brought in younger players who are hungry for the football crown. We have always beaten Bank of Baroda; hence we came here for a win and that is exactly what has happened. We now prepare for another formidable NCBA side in the semifinals,” said Oketch.

In volleyball, the KCB Bank Kenya women’s team dominated their counterpart, NBK, in a one-sided encounter, clinching victory with a comprehensive 2-0 win (25-5, 25-12). The team is now set to take on ABSA in the highly anticipated semi-final match.
