KCB Football Club ended their eight-match winless streak in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League with a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Shabana FC in Machakos on Friday.

Shabana FC entered the match under pressure, having not won in their last five outings, adding to the scrutiny on coach Sammy Pamzo Omollo, who had managed just one win since taking charge of the team.

During this period, they only managed three draws and suffered five defeats.

The Bankers, led by coach Benard Mwalala, had scored just two goals in those eight winless matches, highlighting their offensive struggles.

However, determined to turn the tide, KCB started the game on a positive note and earned a penalty in the 14th minute, which Derrick Otanga calmly converted to give his side a 1-0 lead.

Before the end of the first half, KCB extended their lead when Philemon Nyakwaka found the back of the net, giving them a comfortable 2-0 advantage heading into halftime.

In the second half, KCB continued their attacking momentum, with Otanga scoring his second goal of the match from a free kick just before the hour mark, stretching their lead to 3-0.

However, Shabana fought back, with Magare Brian pulling one back for them in the 64th minute to make it 3-1.

In the dying moments of the game, Shabana capitalized on a long throw-in by Enock Agwanda, which troubled KCB goalkeeper Farouk Shikhalo and ended up in the net, making it 3-2.
