The Green Commandos suffered a defeat in their opening match against reigning champions Shanderema Boys, with the lone goal of the match being scored in the 15th minute.

However, Kakamega School quickly bounced back in their second match, securing an impressive 4-0 victory over Marukusi.

On the other hand, Shanderema Boys continued their winning streak by edging out Munyuki with a solitary goal, solidifying their position in the knockout phase.

Shanderema Boys currently sit at the top of Pool A with six points, while Kakamega School and Munyuki are tied on three points each.

As the tournament progresses, day two will be crucial for Kakamega School as it will determine their fate in advancing to the knockout stage.

In Pool B, Emanani emerged victorious in a thrilling match against Matunda, ending with a 4-2 scoreline. St. Peters also displayed their dominance with a convincing 5-0 win over Matunda.

Pool C witnessed a draw between Butere and Sivilie, ending in a goalless stalemate. Mwitoti secured a 4-2 victory against Mwihila, while Sivilie claimed a narrow 1-0 win over Mwitoti. Butere and Mwihila, on the other hand, battled to a 1-1 draw.

Pool D showcased an exciting match between Lugusi and Matioli, with Lugusi emerging victorious with a 4-2 scoreline. In another intense encounter, Lugusi managed to secure a 1-1 draw against Musingu.
