AFC Leopards and Kakamega Homeboyz shared points following a 0-0 draw in a Football Kenya Federation Premier League match staged at Bukhungu Stadium.

Ingwe were looking to extend their unbeaten run enjoyed in the year, and they did so but were unable to collect maximum points from the well-attended Ingo Derby.

Meanwhile, Kaycie Odhiambo had the first chance of the match, but he could not manage to break the deadlock with it as his shot flew wide.

Levis Barasa, who was spearheading Homeboyz’s attacks in the absence of the benched Moses Shummah, came close to opening the score, but his chance went wide too.

A move that involved Jaffery Owiti and Bonface Kweyu almost brought an opener in favour of Ingwe, but Homeboyz’s goalkeeper James Ssetuba denied them with a magnificent save.

Ingwe head coach Tomas Trucha made a tactical switch in the early stages of the second half when he took off Hassan Beja and Cliff Nyakeya was brought on.

The Nyakeya introduction did not alter the appearance of the game much, as Homeboyz remained dominant. However, the home side failed to maximise their dominance and huge ball possession as they could not make their way past Ingwe’s backline.

In the end, they shared the points, as AFC Leopards will now have their tally increased to 31 as they sit eighth while their rivals are seventh with two more points.
