The Kenya National Soccer Team, Harambee Stars, will fly out of the country on Saturday, July 19, 2025, for the Four-Nation Tournament in Tanzania.

The tournament to be staged in Karatu, Arusha, is set to kick off on Monday, July 21, 2025, and run through to Sunday, July 27, 2025.

The CECAFA-sanctioned tournament has been organised to help teams participating in the upcoming African Nations Championship bolster their preparations ahead of the tournament, which is 15 days away.

Meanwhile, the tourney’s organisers have confirmed a fresh lineup in the mini-tournament, with Senegal joining the three East African nations among the participating teams.

As per the revealed match schedule, Harambee Stars will kick off their Four Nations tournament games against noisy neighbours Uganda on Monday, July 21, 2025.

The same day will also see Tanzania clash against Senegal.

Benni McCarthy’s team will later face Tanzania on match day 2 on Thursday, July 24, 2025.

The four teams will field teams composed of home-based players.

Speaking on the scheduling of the tournament, Auka Gecheo, CECAFA’s Executive Director, stated that the mini-tournament was organised to provide a training platform for the teams set to feature in the continental game.

“The primary objective of this competition is to offer our zonal teams a valuable platform to prepare adequately ahead of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) scheduled for August 2025,” Gecheo stated.

The mini-tournament will see every team play three matches on a round-robin format, with the team amassing the most points emerging as the winner.

Kenya will be hoping to perpetuate their good run in the mini-tournament after clinching a similar competition in March 2024 held in Malawi.

A team comprising Harambee Stars’ foreign and local players bagged the tourney after a spectacular come-from-behind 3-1 victory against Zimbabwe at the Bingu Stadium.
