Harambee Stars sensational midfielder Abdalla to leave Bandari
Harambee Stars sensational midfielder Abdalla Hassan is set to leave Bandari Football Club at the end of this season, with several clubs abroad eagerly vying for his signature.
The dynamic forward will be concluding his seven-year tenure at the coastal club, having joined them in 2016 after an impressive performance with Posta Rangers U-20.
He revealed to People Sport that his current contract will expire in December, and he has already made up his mind about his future, aiming to explore greener pastures overseas.
“I have already decided that this is the last year I am playing in Kenya and with Bandari. My lifelong dream has been to go abroad when I leave Bandari and now is the time. All my bosses at Bandari are aware of this, and they have even received calls regarding the issue,” Abdalla grinned.
Abdalla scored 13 goals last season as Bandari finished 6th on the FKF Premier League log with 60 points, 10 points behind champions Gor Mahia.
The Mombasa-born ace, who has been capped 11 times with Harambee Stars, also revealed that he has received multiple offers from the lucrative Arab leagues of Qatar and Saudi Arabia, which seem to be his likely destination.
“I have received numerous offers from Qatar, and there is one in Saudi for the second-tier league. When my contract ends in December, we will discuss with the Bandari management whether I will sign for another six months to finish the season or leave. Life with Bandari has been good and will continue. It is a place with no stress at all, just happiness. The ocean does not dry, you know,” he added.
The 27-year-old Abdalla missed three friendly matches for Harambee Stars against Qatar, South Sudan, and Iran due to misplacing his passport. However, he remains optimistic about his inclusion in the Engin Firat team for the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers, with the first two assignments set for next month against Gabon and Seychelles.
