Gor Mahia FC head coach Johnathan McKinstry has provided an update on Patrick Sibomana ahead of the FKF Premier League.

Sibomana was substituted off during their goalless draw against Ulinzi Stars last weekend, with Benson Omalla taking his place.

Gor Mahia’s sessions

McKinstry mentioned that Sibomana is undergoing double sessions to strengthen his hamstring. The coach remains optimistic about Sibomana’s availability for selection in the upcoming FKF Cup next weekend.

“Patrick is getting there. He has started doing double sessions to strengthen his hamstring. Our target for him is the cup next week and he is on target for that,” McKinstry stated to Gor Mahia TV.

Gor Mahia are set to face City Stars in Machakos. This match marks the first occasion where Nairobi City Stars, currently in second place, will host league leaders Gor Mahia this season.

This encounter follows their June 2023 match at Kasarani, where Gor Mahia secured a 4-1 victory, clinching the league title.

The upcoming game signifies the 30th match in the Kenyan top-flight between City Stars and Gor Mahia since the 2005/6 premier league season.

Gor Mahia 15th

Additionally, it will be the 15th game for City Stars as the home team against Gor Mahia.

In their previous 14 home games, City Stars managed a solitary victory over Gor Mahia in June 2006, alongside six draws and seven losses. Gor Mahia have dominated these encounters, outscoring City Stars 26 goals to 12.
