Ambrose Rachier has defended his chairman’s position at the Football Kenya Federation Premier League club, Gor Mahia.

During the election that was held at Nyayo Stadium on Sunday, April 13, 2025, Rcahier garnered 658 votes against his closest rival, Dolfina Odhiambo, who garnered 456 votes.

Rachier, a long-serving K’Ogalo official, is now set to serve a new term, which will end in 2029.

Meanwhile, the Kenyan giants are set to have a new secretary-general after Nick Arum defeated the incumbent Sam Ochola by garnering 582 votes compared to his rival’s 501.

Sally Bolo returns to the club to occupy a new position. She has been elected as the vice chairman after garnering 610 votes, beating Victor Mbaka, who managed 488 votes.

In the past, Bolo served as the national treasurer.

Rachier’s promises

After winning, Rachier promised to fight and see that Gor Mahia win at least a continental title.

“We have had this (Premier league titles) 21 times, when the next club following us has 13. We want to extend our supremacy outside the Kenyan territory, in other words, winning the CAF Champions League or the Confederation Cup.

“We need to push and win trophies outside rather than being proud only for winning trophies locally,” Rachier told the media.
