The FKF Women’s Cup preliminary round is scheduled to begin on Saturday, February 17, 2024, featuring six matches over the weekend.

Saturday’s lineup includes a doubleheader at Ruaraka Grounds, with NYS Queens facing off against Nakuru City Queens in the early match.

Following that, Nairobi Starlets will take on Royal Starlets at noon. The final match of the day will see Milima Queens playing against Gaspo Women at Maliki Boys High School at 1:00 p.m.

On Sunday, February 18, 2024, Kenya Police Bullets will go head-to-head with Embu Queens at Embu Stadium at 1:00 p.m.

Meanwhile, defending champions Ulinzi Starlets will start their title defence against TUK Ravens, and Makolanders will host KISPED Queens. Matches are also scheduled for Ruaraka Grounds.

The winners of this preliminary round will qualify to compete in the competition’s round of 16.

Ulinzi Starlets emerged victorious in the 2023 edition of the FKF Women’s Cup, defending their title after defeating Nakuru City Queens 3-1 at Nyayo Stadium on June 4, 2023.

Mercy Airo’s brace gave Ulinzi Starlets a strong start in the first half, securing a 2-0 lead at halftime.

However, Nakuru City Queens made a strong comeback early in the second half, pulling one goal back through Merceline Wafula.

Ulinzi Starlets’ Neddy Akoth secured her team’s victory by scoring the third goal in the 92nd minute.

In the earlier third-place play-off match, FKF Women Division one side Kibera Soccer Ladies pulled off a surprising win over Kisumu Allstarlets.

The match ended 4-2, with Kibera Soccer Ladies staging a remarkable comeback after trailing behind Kisumu Allstarlets.
