Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President Hussein Mohammed has announced the induction of new members into the FKF Disciplinary and Appeals Committees, a move he says will help rebuild integrity and trust in the country’s football management system.

Mohammed described the moment as a significant step in strengthening the governance and integrity of Kenyan football, adding that the new committees will serve as a vital backbone for accountability and fairness within the sport.

“Significant step in strengthening the governance and integrity of Kenyan football as we officially inducted members of the FKF Disciplinary and Appeals Committees,” he stated.

According to the FKF President, the committees will play a crucial role in ensuring that all decisions affecting players, clubs, and officials are made transparently and in line with established football laws.

“These committees are vital in upholding justice, transparency, and accountability within the game, ensuring that every decision made is guided by fairness and the rule of law,” he said.

For years, the football sector in Kenya has faced criticism over governance issues, from match-fixing allegations and club disputes to leadership wrangles that often spill into courtrooms. Hussein’s announcement signals an effort to restore confidence among players, fans, and sponsors who have long called for reforms.

The FKF boss emphasised that the committees will not just be administrative units but active guardians of discipline within the game. “Their work will form the backbone of a football ecosystem built on trust and due process,” he noted.

Under the revamped structure, the Disciplinary Committee will handle matters such as player misconduct, club disputes, and rule violations, while the Appeals Committee will hear and determine appeals arising from disciplinary decisions.

Restoring governance credibility is expected to attract more investors, sponsors, and international partnerships.

The initiative also comes as FKF intensifies efforts to professionalise football management through structured systems, financial audits, and transparent player transfers; reforms that are key to aligning Kenya’s football operations with global standards.
