The FKF Premier League (FKF PL) campaign reached Week 22 over the weekend, with nine matches played.

In the nine, a total of 15 goals were scored and seven clean sheets were registered. Notable performances include Gor Mahia and Murang’a Seal returning to winning ways.

FKF PL lead

Gor Mahia ended a two-match winless streak by securing victory against Nairobi City Stars with a solitary goal from FKF PL leading scorer Benson Omala.

This victory marked Gor Mahia’s fifth consecutive win over City Stars and their 15th in the last 23 league meetings.

In the match, Omala ended his seven-match drought, while Kevin Omondi recorded his 15th clean sheet in 22 starts.

With this win, Gor Mahia moved to 47 points, opening an eight-point gap between them and second-placed Posta Rangers.

Tusker FC, sitting third with 37 points, completed a double over KCB Football Club on Sunday in Machakos.

They stand out as the best offensive side in the campaign with 29 goals and boast the second-best defensive record, conceding only 14 goals.

Kenya Police’s six-match unbeaten streak leaves them on 37 points. They have won five and drawn one of their last six matches under the leadership of Salim Babu.

Bandari FC also hold 37 points after securing their 11th win of the season, defeating struggling Nzoia Sugar 2-1 in Bungoma. They are currently unbeaten in their last three away matches.

Kakamega Homeboyz’s goalless draw against AFC Leopards in the Ingo Derby propelled them to 33 points, maintaining a two-point lead over AFC Leopards, who have shown improvement after a slow start to the season.

Leoopards in FKF PL

AFC Leopards, currently on an eight-match unbeaten run, have kept six consecutive clean sheets in the league.

Despite this, they find themselves in eighth place on the log with 31 points, trailing leaders Gor Mahia by 16 points.

Bidco, at position nine, have suffered losses in their last two matches, accumulating 30 points, while KCB occupy the 10th position after going seven matches without a win.

Murang’a Seal ended their 11-match winless streak, amassing 27 points in the process, after a 103-day drought without a win.

Ulinzi Stars, FC Talanta, and Sofapaka are all tied at 25 points, while Kariobangi Sharks follow closely behind with 23 points.

Muhoroni Youth occupy the relegation playoff slot with 19 points, having failed to secure a win in their last five matches.

Shabana, with only one win in their last six matches, find themselves in 19th position with 18 points, while Nzoia Sugar occupy the bottom spot with just 16 points, having won only one of their last six matches.
