Excitement builds as Kenya Cup 2025/26 season kicks off
The eagerly awaited 2025/26 Kenya Cup season is set to roar into life on Saturday, 22 November 2025, as rugby fans across the country prepare for an action-packed Match Day One featuring some of the fiercest rivalries in Kenyan rugby.
Day 1 fixtures
According to the official fixtures released by the showpiece organisers, heavyweights Kabras RFC will begin their campaign against MMUST Rugby at the Kakamega Showground in what promises to be a thrilling Western derby.
Kabras, known for their dominant forward pack and structured play, will be keen to assert their authority early in the season against an eager students’ side in Western Kenya.
In Nairobi, KCB Rugby will face off with Impala Rugby at the Ruaraka Sports Club. This encounter brings together two well-established sides with rich histories in the competition. Both teams will be targeting a strong start as they eye consistency and momentum in the early stages of the campaign.
Menengai Oilers will take on Daystar Falcons at the Nakuru ASK Showground. The Oilers, who have grown into a formidable force in recent seasons, will be tested by a youthful and energetic Falcons squad.

Another key clash will see Nondescripts lock horns with Kisumu RFC at Ngong Racecourse. This fixture pits the experienced Ngong Road-based side against a Kisumu team eager to prove their credentials away from home, setting the stage for a competitive and entertaining showdown.
University rugby will also be in the spotlight as KU Blak Blad hosts Strathmore Leos at Kenyatta University. The encounter is expected to be intense, with both sides bringing a blend of disciplined structure and youthful passion to the pitch.
Rounding off the Match Day One fixtures, Kenya Harlequin will face Nakuru RFC at the RFUEA Grounds. The Quins will rely on their tactical prowess and home advantage, while Nakuru will aim to make a strong statement in the opening round.
With venues spread across the country and a lineup of compelling matchups, Match Day One of the Kenya Cup 2025/26 season promises high-quality rugby, intense rivalries, and an electric atmosphere as teams begin their quest for domestic glory. All matches are scheduled to start at 4:00 pm, except the Kenya Harlequin vs Nakuru RFC tie that kicks off at 3:00 pm local time.
