Lagat commended the athletes for their dedication to the competition. “Lagat commended the officers for their dedication to the competition and for winning the majority of the awards,” the statement reads, noting that their success mirrors the discipline instilled within the Police Service.

“Lagat remarked that such dominance in the sports arena by the men and women in uniform is a result of significant dedication, discipline, and sacrifice. He encouraged the athletes to adopt these same virtues,” the statement reads.

He pointed out that the National Police Service continues to lead in various sporting disciplines, citing Kenya Police FC and Kenya Police Bullets as the current football champions. He also highlighted the success of police teams in volleyball and kabaddi, saying these achievements reflect “significant dedication, discipline, and sacrifice.”

Lagat encouraged the athletes to continue upholding these values beyond the track, saying the lessons learned through sports contribute to better service delivery and unity within the force.

He also expressed gratitude to the NPS Organising Committee and the coaches for their commitment to training and mentoring the athletes, which he said played a vital role in their victory.
