CHAN final: CS Mvurya announces reduction of fan zones from 13 to 5
Sports Cabinet Secretary Salim Mvurya has revealed the five designated fan zones for public viewing of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) final clash at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.
In a presser this Friday, August 29, 2025, Mvurya revealed that they had reduced the number of the fan zones to five ahead of the Saturday, August 30, 2025, matchup between Morocco and Madagascar.

According to the CS, the fan zone will be at Lucky Summer, Kenya Archives, Githurai, Jacaranda, and Kibra DC grounds
“We have made provision likewise for the fan zones. even though we have reduced from 13 to 5. We will have a fan zone at the Kenya Archives, Kibra DC grounds, Githurai, and Jacaranda.
The CS additionally confirmed the itinerary of the events leading up to the much-anticipated finals.

The closing ceremony for the final will begin at 2:00 pm with a series of entertainment events marking the closing ceremony of the edition of the CHAN games.
Mvurya says the team’s arrival will be an hour ahead of the kickoff at 6:00 pm.
Call for decorum
Meanwhile, the CS has admonished fans to be at the stadium early for what he termed will be an eventful and colourful closing ceremony.
“Those who have tickets for the match. We advise they be here by 1:30 so that by 2 o’clock, when the ceremony begins, they can be part of it. It is going to be colorful, and I invite those with tickets,” he stated.
He also stated that the government and stakeholders involved had put elaborate plans for security and seamless access to the venue, urging those who will be at the venue to maintain decorum and accord the tournament a fitting climax.
“We have made plans for security and seamless access to the venue. I want to urge everybody to cooperate with our stewards and all stakeholders by handling the logistics to ensure CAF requirements are adhered to,” he stated.
