CECAFA U18 round one fixtures

The CECAFA U18 group stage kicks off with round-one matches scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.

The opening match on Saturday features Somalia against Rwanda at Jomo Kenyatta Stadium in Kisumu County at 12:00 p.m.

Later, Kenya U18, led by Salim Babu, will face Sudan at 3:00 p.m. Both matches will be streamed live by FKF.

On Sunday, Zanzibar will play South Sudan at 12:00 p.m., followed by a match between Tanzania and Uganda. The tournament, featuring eight teams, will have matches held in both Kisumu and Kakamega.

In Pool A, Kenya U-18 will compete against Somalia, Rwanda, and Sudan. Pool B includes Tanzania, Zanzibar, South Sudan, and Uganda.

Pool A matches will be held in Kisumu at Jomo Kenyatta Stadium in Mamboleo, while Pool B matches are scheduled for Kakamega at Bukhungu Stadium.

The winners of each group will face the runners-up in the next round, which will be the semi-finals on December 5, with the final to be played in Kisumu.

Kenya U18 squad for CECAFA

The final squad for the Kenya U18 team was announced on Thursday, featuring USA-based Louis Ingavi and players from Spain’s Nastic Sports Academy

Experienced FKF Premier League players, including Stanley Wilson, Sigmunn Maina, Baron Ochieng, Lucas Maina, and Ibrahim Wanzala, are also part of the squad.

Additionally, players from FKFNSL and Division One clubs, such as Tyron Kariuki, Manzur Suleiman, and Joseph Bate, provide depth to the team.

The team departed for Kisumu on Thursday ahead of the CECAFA U-18 Boys Championship from November 25 to December 9.
