Busia Woman representative Catherine Omanyo has expressed her elation at Kenya’s performance in the just-concluded 2025 EAC Inter-Parliamentary Games held in Uganda.

In a statement on her Facebook page on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, Omanyo, who represented Kenya in four different categories, revelled at her solo performance.

The event saw the MPs and senators showcase their sports excellence and talents besides their normal legislative duties, with Omanyo among the standout performers from the Kenyan parliamentarians.

Wonderful experience

“Grateful to have represented Kenya at the 15th edition of the East African Community Inter-Parliamentary Games 2025, held in Uganda. It was a wonderful experience competing alongside fellow parliamentarians from across the region,” part of her statement read.

She was also part of Kenya’s volleyball, netball, and basketball teams that emerged second across the ladies’ categories.

Besides Omanyo, Moiben MP Phylis Bartoo and her Kacheliba counterpart, Titus Lotee, were among the other top performers.

Lotee accounted for two gold medals won by Kenya.

He was part of Team Kenya’s Parliamentary 4x400m relay team, powered to gold on the second day of the athletics program, posting 4:19.8 on Thursday, December 11, 2025.

The MP also added another gold with a commanding run in the 800m, finishing in 2:28.9, and a silver medal in the men’s 1500m with a close 5:24.0 behind Acan Julius, who ran 5:23.5.
