Basketball Without Borders camp headed to Egypt
The 18th edition of the Basketball Without Borders (BWB) Africa camp will be held from 28 to 31 August at Hassan Mostafa Indoor Sports Complex in Cairo, Egypt.
It will mark the first time the NBA and FIBA’s global basketball development and community outreach programme will be held in Egypt and the first time in Africa since 2019 in Senegal.
The 2022 edition will bring together more than 60 top players of age 18 and under, both male and female from across Africa.
Players are expected to learn directly from current and former NBA, WNBA and FIBA players, legends and coaches and compete alongside the best young players on the continent.
Campers and coaches will also take part in life skills, leadership development and community service programming.
FIBA National Federations and Sport Director, Zoran Radovic said: “It is great to see Basketball Without Borders return to Africa for this 18th edition.
Radovic stated: “It is clear that the talent in this part of the world is strong, and we have seen some great players who attend BWB camps rise and become superstars. We are proud to continue to build and strengthen basketball in Africa,” he added.
