Bandari FC triumphs over AFC Leopards

Bandari FC advanced after a tense 4-3 penalty shootout win against AFC Leopards, following a goalless draw in regulation time.

The coastal side dominated early, with Erick Balecho’s strike grazing the side netting. Goalkeeper Levis Opiyo made a crucial goal-line save five minutes before halftime to deny Victor Omune, while William Wadri’s second-half header from Izzadin Ramadan’s corner missed the target.

In the shootout, Bandari’s Katana Agege, Otieno Clifford, Sharif Majabe, and Joseph Onyango scored their penalties. AFC Leopards’ Odhiambo Kaya, Vincent Mahiga, and Julius Masaba converted their kicks, but misses from Madada Kelly and James Kinyajui handed Bandari the win.

Gor Mahia overcomes Shabana FC

Gor Mahia reached the final with a 4-3 penalty victory over Shabana FC after a 1-1 draw. Gor Mahia took the lead in the 38th minute when Samuel Kapen fired a low shot past Shabana keeper Caleb Omondi. Shabana equalised in the 60th minute through Humphrey Obina’s 19-yard free-kick.

“@OfficialGMFC⁩ beats @Shabanafckenya⁩ on penalties after a 1-1 draw to reach final with hosts ⁦@Bandarifc⁩ in the #ODMat20Soccer tournament at the KPA Mbaraki Sports ground in Mombasa. Bandari beat ⁦@AFCLeopards⁩ on post-match penalties in the 1st match,” read ODM’s X post.

Gor Mahia’s Chris Ochieng, Mark Shaban, Adukwa Ebenezer, and Enock Morrison converted their kicks, while Paul Ochuoga missed. Shabana’s Victor Omondi, Kevin Omondi, and Mark Okola scored, but misses from Obina and Justine Omwando ended their campaign.
