Patrick Aussems has dismissed reports that he has ditched FKF Premier League side AFC Leopards and moved to Rwandese side Kiyovu sports.
Rwandan outlet the Times announced on Tuesday that Premier League side Kiyovu Sports had appointed the Belgian as their new head coach.
They went on to state that the coach had already penned a three-year deal and had jetted to Kigali ready to lead the side.
Aussems has cleared the air by posting a photo of him sitting outside his home and captioned it with the words; “All these rumors … I am quite, at home , 35° … Let me enjoying my holidays … Good evening everyone!”
AFC Leopards coach previously linked with move to Rwanda
Its not the first time that the AFC Leopards tactician has been linked with a move to Rwanda. In August 2021, reports emerged that he was heading to Rwandese side Police FC.
The coach however dismissed the rumours and led AFC Leopards in the 2021 season where Leopards finished fifth.
He joined the club in February 2021 after a successful stint at Tanzania’s Simba where he guided them to the Tanzanian Premier League title in 2018/19 and reached the quarter-finals of the Caf Champions League
The Belgian later confirmed in August 2021 that he had extended his stay at the den despite getting offers from other clubs. He said his target was to win titles by producing modern and attractive football and also make the fans happy.
The AFC Leopards tactician left the country in May with two games remaining before the end of 2021-2022 FKF Premier League season.
Aussems took charge of his final game of the season as Ingwe suffered a 6-5 loss to arch-rivals Gor Mahia in Madaraka Day Cup final played at Nyayo Stadium.
