In a high-stakes Group A match at the African Nations Championship (CHAN), on Sunday, August 10, 2025, in Nyayo Stadium, Angola secured a dramatic 2-1 victory over Zambia, strengthening their bid to advance from the group stage.

Dominic Chanda gave Zambia an early boost with a 73rd-minute goal, raising their hopes. However, Angola responded strongly with Kaporal scoring twice in quick succession at the 79th and 86th minutes, turning the game around and clinching all three points.

The match stats highlight Angola’s dominance in possession and attacking intent. Angola controlled over 60 per cent of the ball and launched several shots on target. Angola also completed over 400 passes.

Despite Zambia’s spirited efforts and a respectable number of fouls, Angola’s superior attacking play and clinical finishing made the difference.
