Kenya 7s International and Menengai Oilers forward Harold Anduvate is set to make a competitive return to the rugby field after a gruelling two-year rehabilitation journey.

Anduvate, a pivotal member of the Menengai Oilers squad, suffered a devastating injury during a friendly match between Kenya 7s and Kenya U20, resulting in an ACL tear and meniscus tear that forced him out of action.

Anduvate’s absence

The injury kept Anduvate on the sidelines during the 2021 Safari 7s tournament at Nyayo Stadium, marking the beginning of a challenging period in his career.

Despite the setback, Anduvate remained resilient, determined to overcome the obstacles standing in the way of his return to the sport he loves.

Anduvate determination

The seriousness of Anduvate’s injuries could have easily ended his rugby career, but his determination and support system played a crucial role in keeping him focused on his goal.

He credited his resilience to the unwavering determination and support of his family, close friends, the dedicated medical team, and the team management, all of whom acted as guiding lights on his darkest days.

“My family and close friends were pillars of strength, constantly lifting me with their love, encouragement, and belief in my abilities. Their presence provided me with the assurance that I was not alone in my struggle, that we were in this together, and that their unwavering support was my anchor during those turbulent times.
