Akonnor confident as Gor Mahia face Posta Rangers in crucial FKF PL showdown
Gor Mahia head coach Charles Akonnor expects the record Kenyan Premier League champions to maintain their good form in the league as they face log leaders Posta Rangers on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at the Nyayo National Stadium.
Gor Mahia will be heading into Sunday’s encounter against the Mailmen with two wins on the bounce, seeking to pile pressure on the Sammy (Pamzo) Omollo charges at the summit of the league standings.
As the league resumes after the mourning period of former Prime Minister and Gor Mahia patron Raila Odinga, Akonnor believes his men will pick up from where they left off, where they beat KCB 1-0 on Sunday, October 5, 2025.

“We want to continue with the same form. It was unfortunate that we had the break without blaming anyone. It’s important to get back to our running form, momentum, and the belief,” Akonnor said.
Gor Mahia started the new campaign on a losing note, succumbing to a 1-0 defeat against Bidco United in September before winning against Sofapaka and KCB, respectively.
In Sunday fixtures, AFC Leopards and APS Bomet finally broke their respective league ducks with crucial victories in the Football Kenya Premier League matchday five fixtures played this Saturday, October 25, 2025.
Fred Ambani’s Ingwe edged KCB 2-1 to clinch their first league win as league newcomers APS Bomet stunned Kariobangi Sharks 2-1 at the Kasarani Annex. Elsewhere, Kakamega Homeboyz beat Ulinzi Stars 3-1 at Bukhungu Stadium.
