FKF PL Week 12: AFC Leopards set for Sofapaka duel as Gor Mahia travel to Homa Bay
Football Kenya Federation Premier League action will return on Saturday and Sunday after the FIFA international break in mid-November.
League leaders Posta Rangers will face Shabana in a game that will be broadcast from Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos. Rangers will hope to win and widen the gap between them and second-placed Gor Mahia. Tore Bobe, on the other hand, would hope to avoid a defeat and ease pressure on themselves.
Tusker, who have kept losing ground in the title race after an inconsistent run, will face Bidco United at Kasarani Annex in a match that will start at 1:00 PM. FC Talanta travel to the coastal city of Mombasa as they are scheduled to face Bandari at Mbaraki Stadium at 3:00 pm.
Kariobangi Sharks, who have dropped from the leading pack, have been scheduled to face Nairobi City Stars at 3:15 pm at the Kasarani Annex, while Sofapaka and AFC Leopards will clash in a late kick-off in Machakos.
AFC Leopards are still trying to find stability after a poor season start that saw Tom Juma fired as head coach and Tomas Trucha appointed. On the other hand, Sofapaka have also not fared spectacularly, and a win will be most welcome by both sides.
Four games have been scheduled for Sunday, and one of them is Gor Mahia’s duel against Muhoroni Youth at Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay. K’Ogalo, the only side yet to be defeated this season, are expected to have a rather easy time against the Youth, given how the latter have performed in the top flight so far.
A win for the reigning Premier League champions will take them to the top of the table, and this explains how seriously they must take the match.
Nzoia Sugar and Kenya Police will clash at Sudi Stadium in Bungoma at 3:00 pm, while Ulinzi Stars will welcome Kakamega Homeboyz at Ulinzi Sports Complex in Lang’ata.
