AFC Leopards, celebrating their 60th birthday, visited the Shangilia Mtoto Africa Children’s Home as part of their commemorative events.

Players and officials engaged in various activities including donating food, planting trees, playing games, and sharing cake with the children.

The club expressed gratitude to their fans for their unwavering support over the years, acknowledging their passion and dedication.

“On this historic day, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our loyal fans for the massive turnout and unwavering support.

“Your passion and dedication fuel our team. We are truly humbled by the bond we share. Thank You,” the statement revealed.

Leopard’s crew also visited Shauri Moyo, where the club originated, reflecting on their journey and welcoming stakeholder input on future improvements.

AFC Leopards formation

Founded in 1964 as Abaluhya United Football Club, AFC Leopards has a rich history. In 1973, it changed its name to Abaluhya Football Club after a series of club amalgamations, and in 1980, it adopted the name AFC Leopards, which it holds today.

The amalgamation saw the dissolution of several smaller clubs into one, forming the foundation of AFC Leopards.

The club continues to honor its legacy while looking ahead to future endeavours, including a match against Spanish side AE Ramassa on March 24.
