You cannot deny me credits for the many things we achieved as government – Ruto
Deputy President William Ruto has on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, chided President Uhuru Kenyatta and some State mandarins for claiming that he played no role in the achievements made by the Jubilee administration.
Ruto has been subject to a sustained attack by state officers accusing him of hitting the campaign trail and absconding from his duty as the Principal Assistant of President Uhuru Kenyatta. Uhuru also subtly attacked his deputy yesterday after he stated that some factions of politicians have resorted to politicking from atop cars and abandoned their official duties.
Speaking at a whistle-stop rally in Kakamega, Ruto stated that it is unfair that his partners in government are hell-bent on painting him like a dormant State Officer yet he contributed to the formulation and implementation of several government initiatives.
” I want to tell our friends that the Jubilee government was a joint government between Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto. You cannot deny me as the Deputy President the credits we have achieved in the many things we have achieved as a government. It is not going to happen, my friends,” he said.
The visibly agitated second-in-command proceeded to enumerate several projects that he alleges he was part and parcel of. Ruto claimed that he was part of the team that engineered development projects like; road projects, electricity connectivity projects, and formulating and implementing reforms in the education system.
The presidential hopeful maintained that he made an equal contribution in the successes that the Uhuru administration boasts of. He underscored that he should therefore be credited for the gains.
“Anybody imagining that they can deny me the credit for the things we did that succeeded in Jubilee are wasting their time. I made an equal contribution to the success of the Jubilee administration,” he added.
