Work is not done on top of vehicles, Uhuru takes swipe at Ruto

President Uhuru Kenyatta has, indirectly, told off his deputy William Ruto for claiming government projects while campaigning.
Speaking on Monday in Mombasa, the President said proper work can only be done in offices and not in political rallies.
“Some are saying we have done this and that while being on top of vehicles. Work is not done on top of the car, but in the offices and in theatres, ICU and wards where nurses work,” Uhuru said.
The President further asked those criticising his government to give better ideas on how services can be delivered to the people of Kenya.
“Tell us how to do things better instead of simply criticising everything,” he said.
President Uhuru spoke when he officially opened the International Health Workforce Conference 2022 at a Mombasa hotel.
During his address, the Head of State proposed a seven-point framework for charting the way forward in harmonizing the training for healthcare professionals.
The framework lays emphasis on strengthening the generation and use of research, innovation, evidence and technology to inform policy and re-imagining entrepreneurship opportunities for the health workforce.
The conference is aimed at providing stakeholders with the opportunity to harmonize the curriculum and training of healthcare professionals in the country in support of the Universal Health Care agenda.
The three-day meeting will strengthen the capability and technical support for health professionals to implement UHC, anchored on the pillars of provision of quality healthcare, ensuring access and affordability of health care services.
