Roots party leader George Wajackoyah has come out to accept Nuru Okanga’s apology after he went down on his knees pleading for forgiveness.

In a short statement posted on his socials on Monday, August 18, 2025, Wajackoya responded to Nuru Okanga’s video apology, telling him that he has forgiven him.

“I have forgiven you,” Wajackoyah wrote.

In the video, Nuru Okanga did not come out clearly on what had led to his fallout with the Roots Party leader, but he mentioned that Wajackoya no longer receives his calls, something that he used to do with ease before.

While kneeling, Okanga pleaded with Wajackoya not to distance himself from him and requested that they continue with the communication they previously had. He also expressed his desire to visit Wajackoya at his Runda office so that they could talk.

Nuru further revealed that Wajackoya has been instrumental in his life, saying he has come through for him in difficult times. He recalled how Wajackoya once cleared a medical bill for his mother worth Ksh20,000 and also did shopping worth Ksh30,000 for her, something other politicians had never done for him.

Naomba msamaha ile communication tulikuwa nayo tuendelee nayo; mimi naomba niende kwa office yake pale Runda, tuongee, kwa sababu kuna wakati nilikuja nikagwama mama yangu alikuwa hospitali, professor akatoa Ksh20,000,mama akatoka, ile Christmas ingine, professor alipigia mama yangu shopping ya Ksh30,000.” Nuru Okanga stated.

He went on to portray Wajackoya as a leader who does not like publicity or helping people in front of cameras.

Nuru also remembered how Wajackoya identified him after he was hit by Raila Odinga’s bodyguard, took him to hospital, and cleared all the medical expenses.

His plea to Wajackoya

Okanga stated that he cannot afford to lose communication with Wajackoya and emphasised that this was the reason he went down on his knees. He further pleaded for forgiveness, adding that he wished their cordial relationship would continue.
