Uhuru hands 4 Akurinu leaders plum govt jobs as church marks 100 years
By evans.maritim, June 19, 2022President Uhuru Kenyatta on Sunday appointed four Akurinu church leaders into top government positions as the church marks 100 years of existence.
The four are David Mburu, Samuel Thiongo Mwangi, Macharia Jeremiah, and Eunice Njeri.
Mburu will be Kenya Tea Corporation Chairperson, while Abraham Macharia Jeremiah has been appointed as a board member of the Postal Corporation.

Njeri and Mwangi have been appointed Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC) board member and chair of the National Water Harvesting and Storage Authority.
They will also serve for three years.
“I am happy about the progress of the Akurinu church. The membership has now reached 1.5 million people, and you’ve participated in the running of our country, including in political leadership,” Uhuru said when he attended the celebration to mark 100 years of the church’s existence in the country.

Further, the President contributed Ksh10 million to support the church.
Uhuru also donated Ksh1 million to buy Akurinu books and a title deed for five acres of land.
“I want to thank you for the support you have accorded me for many years,” he said.
The President was accompanied by Azimio la Umoja presidential candidate Raila Odinga and his running mate Martha Karua.
