Uganda joins the rest of the world to celebrate UnitedNations’ World Wildlife Day 2
World Wildlife Day was celebrated in 2020 under the theme “Sustaining all life on Earth”, encompassing all wild animal and plant species as key components of the world’s biodiversity.
The State Minister for Tourism Godfrey Kiwanda asked Ugandans always to contribute significantly to wildlife conservation in Uganda.
The national Wildlife Day theme is “Sustaining Wildlife for the benefit of the present and future generations”.
Minister Godfrey Kiwanda while addressing the media highlighted on the reason for the choice of the theme and asked Ugandans always to promote their country through tourism.
At the same event, officials held Wildlife Conservation competitions involving quiz, debates, music dance and drama will be held to raise awareness about conservation issues among the youth.
Tertiary institutions competitions will be held at Uganda Christian University Mukono, Secondary Schools competitions at Sesame Girls Secondary School, Kisoro and Primary School competitions will be held at Mutolere Primary School Kisoro, District.
