Manyatta Member of Parliament (MP) Gitonga Mukunji has asked the recently dismissed Cabinet Secretaries to apologise to President William Ruto and Kenyans for their perceived failure in office.

Speaking during a meeting with community health promoters in Embu town, Mukunji lamented that many of these officials had prioritized showcasing their luxurious lifestyles over fulfilling their governmental duties.

He criticized their public displays of wealth, highlighting their expensive attire and accessories, which detracted from their responsibility to serve the people.

“Instead of promoting the president’s agenda some Cabinet Secretaries decided to show us the expensive clothes they wear, watches, ties and selling us fake fertilizer,” Mukunji said.

Emphasizing the need for committed and focused leaders, Mukunji urged the president to include Generation Z members in his new cabinet lineup when he will be reconstructing it.

He argued that the inclusion of younger voices would bring fresh perspectives and energy to the administration.

“We want to call on the president to consider Generation Z in his cabinet. When the list of those who have been nominated to replace the dismissed Cabinet Secretaries will reach the parliament we shall check whether it has a Gen Z if not we will send it back for consideration,” Mukunji stated.

The UDA MP further called on members of public to support the president to deliver his manifesto.

President Ruto’s recent dismissal of his cabinet, has been a response to growing dissatisfaction among Kenyans who were pushing him to fire them stating that they had failed to deliver their mandate.

Mukunji’s statements echo a broader call for government officials to align more closely with the President’s development agenda, focusing on tangible benefits for the citizens rather than personal enrichment.
