African Climate Summit

The African Climate Summit is set to kick off in Kenya, beginning with a ministerial day. The summit, spanning from today until Wednesday, will be a platform for discussions surrounding Climate Positive Growth, emphasizing opportunities for economic growth through climate action, and the role of global southern countries.

Notable attendees include African Union Chairperson Azali Assoumani, Kenyan President William Ruto, African Union Commission Chairperson Moussa Faki Mahamat, and other prominent figures in the field of climate and environment.

On Tuesday, the focus is on the spotlight on opportunities. They will have a deep dive into opportunity areas, creating a spotlight on individual opportunities, their business models, financial viability, and tangible progress towards each opportunity area to date.

Mudavadi in Zimbabwe

In another development, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi is currently in Harare, Zimbabwe, to partake in the inauguration of Zimbabwe’s President Emerson Mnangagwa who was recently re-elected.

Representing President William Ruto, Mudavadi’s official visit spans two days and includes attending the swearing-in ceremony at the National Sports Stadium.

Kenya Men’s Volleyball start African Nations Volleyball Championship

Meanwhile, the Men’s African Nations Volleyball Championship has commenced in Cairo, Egypt. Organized by the African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB), this prestigious tournament features senior men’s national volleyball teams from across the continent.

Kenya’s national team, Wafalme, is placed in Pool C, where they will compete against Cameroon, Ghana, and Libya.

Their journey begins with a match against Cameroon on Monday. The championship will culminate in an exciting finale on September 14, 2023.
