Kapseret Member of Parliament (MP) Oscar Sudi has taken a swipe at Nyali MP Mohammed Ali, popularly known as Jicho Pevu, accusing him of joining the government with the wrong expectations.

Sudi claimed on Saturday, October 4, 2025, that Ali entered government circles thinking there was free money to collect.

“The problem with Jicho Pesa is that he thought when we formed this government, he’d get a place to get free money, unaware that the government has its procedures,” he said.

According to Sudi, leadership is not about shortcuts or handouts. “Instead of working hard and doing business, he was expecting free money. Even if another government is formed, there’s no place to get money freely,” he added.

Jicho Pevu meets Gachagua, Kalonzo

Before the controversy, he had shared a cryptic message online that many interpreted as a subtle response to the rising political noise.

“Some things are better left unannounced, because they are meant to be discovered. Happy to be sipping tea in the company of great, wise men,” Ali posted, hinting at quiet confidence amid the growing tension.

His words painted a picture of calm and introspection, far from the fiery tone that has come to define exchanges between some leaders within government.

Gachagua praises Jicho Pevu

Earlier, former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua had expressed strong admiration for Mohammed Ali, describing him as one of the young, talented leaders he is mentoring.

“I thank God for healing my great friend Hon Mohamed Ali, aka Jicho Pevu, who has struggled with a serious knee injury for almost a year after multiple surgeries, denying him the opportunity to effectively serve the people of Nyali Constituency,” Gachagua said.

He added that it was “great to have spent my Saturday with Moha catching up from our days in the 12th Parliament,” noting that Ali “has a great future as a leader for the Coast Region and Kenya.”

Gachagua also said he was impressed by Moha’s ideas on mobilising the Coast region.

“The people of the Coast Region are hard-hit by the effects of economic mismanagement and the collapse of the education and healthcare systems by Kenya’s saboteurs. This pain and anguish will come to an end on the ballot in August 2027,” he added.

At the centre of it all stands Mohammed Ali, a man balancing between sharp political criticism and quiet reflection.
