A 16-year-old boy, suspected to be Kenyan who was on Thursday last week found at Maastricht Aachen Airport in Holland in the wheel arch of a cargo plane, has been released from hospital even as the Turkish Airline Company in question denied being aware of the matter.  

Minor, who is currently being interrogated by police in Holland, was released from hospital over the weekend after he was said to be in a stable condition. He had been rushed to hospital after the incident with symptoms of hypothermia. 

 He had been found clinging to the Turkish Airplane of number TK6305, which is operated by the Turkish Airlines Airbus A330-200 that had on Wednesday last week flown from the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to London via Istanbul. 

 Yesterday, People Daily contacted the Turkish Airline, which said that it was not aware of the matter, as it did not have passenger flights to Maastricht Airport in Holland. 

 “We do not have any information because we do not have passenger flights to Maastricht,” the Airline exclusively told People Daily. 

 On the other end, the Dutch Royal Marechaussee, which is one of two national police forces in the Netherlands, in a comment, said it was investigating whether the minor was a matter of possible human smuggling or not. 

Global attention

In their statement that attracted global attention, the Dutch police said the minor was doing well, and they were still yet to establish whether the incident was planned or not.  

“The Marechaussee in Limburg is conducting further investigations into, among other things, possible human smuggling in connection with the stowaway found at Maastricht Aachen Airport near the landing gear of an aircraft.

The presumably 16-year-old Kenyan boy is doing reasonably well,” the police said in a statement. 

Data from RadarBox.com revealed that the flight departed from Stansted Airport at 12:05pm (3.08pm Kenyan time) and the plane climbed to 19,000 feet and landed in Holland 16 minutes later. 

Data further reveals the flight never climbed further than the height as it took a few minutes before it landed and just in case it went any higher than that then the minor could have not survived. 

 At 20,000 feet, a stowaway would have been conscious for half an hour because the oxygen levels on that height are usually very minimal, meaning he could have frozen to death. 

 Yesterday, London said the minor never boarded the plane from Stansted Airport, saying the aircraft arrived from Istanbul. 

  “All I can really tell you is that this person categorically did not board the aircraft at London Stansted.

I am sure the Dutch authorities, who are conducting the investigation as the individual was discovered as the aircraft was departing from Maastricht airport to Istanbul, will be able to confirm this for you,” Mr Mark Davinson the Stansted airport limited Mark Davinson the Stansted airport limited press office manager said. 

 Instead Mr Davinson referred People Daily to the Dutch Authority, saying since it had kicked off with the investigations it was in a better position to deal with the matter.
