The government has warned leaders in Transmara, Narok County against inciting youths to cause chaos in Nkararo area.

Narok County Commissioner (CC) Isaac Masinde led a county security team to visit the region on Wednesday following fresh boundary clashes in the area last week.

Several houses and acres of sugarcane farms were set ablaze during the clashes.

Similar attacks were reported on Tuesday, prompting the deployment of heavy security to contain the deteriorating situation.

On Wednesday, Masinde warned that leaders who incite youths and facilitate attacks will be arrested and prosecuted. He said intelligence reports had confirmed that some politicians were behind the conflicts.

“We are urging our youth to stop being used by leaders for selfish interests. This wave of violence should come to an end with immediate effect. If we can’t see change, the government will be forced to use other mechanisms to ensure sanity is restored,” he warned.
