Speaker Muturi declares his 2022 presidential bid
National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi declared that he will be running for presidency in 2022.
Muturi said so while speaking at his Rural home is Kanyuambora in Mbeere North ,Embu county on Saturday, July 3 when he met religious leaders form Mt Kenya East, Muturi said he is confident that he will clinch the top seat.
The speaker said his mission is to restore the lost glory of the country and pride.
“We must restore order and dignity in our country and this cannot be achieved when one is not number one.
“We must have a country that is ruled by discipline and order and am the only person who can do that if you place me to be number one,”Muturi said.
Muturi urged priests to pray for him so that he can achieve his dreams of being the next president of Kenya.
Muturi said he will not deputies anybody because he is capable of running for presidency.
Church leaders who attended the occasion declared their support for Muturi to run for presidency.
Bishop Cyrus Muriuki said that everybody in Mt Kenya region should support Muturi because his track record is clean and his work is exemplary performed in the offices he has held before.
He urged him to traverse different regions of the country so that he can mobilize many to back his presidential bid.
“Mr speaker as a church in Embu we are behind you so that you can carry the mandate and our flag nationally, you have what it takes to be president of this great country,” Muriuki said.
He also urged men of cloth not to be used as political brokers because that might jeopardize unity of this country.
Bishop Gerald Nthiga observed that Speaker Muturi is a game changer sent by holy spirit to propel the country to the next level.
Nthiga urged leaders from the Mt Kenya Central to back Muturi because since independence the small community which Muturi comes from in Mbeere has been supporting previous presidential candidates without questioning.
“No one should bring the argument of small and big communities, let’s support Muturi because he has all what it takes to be a president,” Nthiga said.
Speaker Muturi was coronated two months ago and his coronation has had resistance from a section of leaders in Mt Kenya Region who say they don’t recognize him as Mt Kenya’s Spokesman.
Muturi who is a close confidant of President Uhuru Kenyatta has sent Mt Kenya politicians in panic with many confused whether his coronation had President Uhuru’s blessings.
Three governors from Mt Kenya East have already declared support for his Coronation as Mt Kenya spokesman. The three are Martin Wambora (Embu) ,Muthomi Njuki (Tharaka Nithi)and Kiraitu Murungi (Meru).
Others from the other side of the Mt Kenya region have shown resistance in subscribing to Muturi’s Coronation as Mt Kenya spokesman.
His declaration that he will run for presidency in 2022 might raise mixed reaction in Mt Kenya region
