Ruto to meet Grammy officials, sign investment deal on his 2nd day of US state visit
President William Ruto is expected to meet Grammy Awards officials on his second day of the United States of America state visit.
Ruto will also have a conversation with creatives, Kenyans in Hollywood and international artists at the Tyler Perry Studios.
Kenyan creatives Kate Actress (born Catherine Kamau) and Eddie Butita are part of a Kenyan delegation accompanying Ruto on his State visit to the U.S.
He will then have a tour of the studios located in Atlanta, Georgia.
Ruto’s US schedule
According to a schedule shared by digital strategist and Ruto’s close ally Dennis Itumbi, the head of state will first tour the Atlanta University Centre where he is expected to sign an exchange programmes agreement with several universities and technical colleges in USA and Kenya.
Ruto will also be at the Coca-Cola headquarters where he is expected to sign an investment deal before proceeding to showcase Kenyan businesses doing well abroad.

President Ruto jetted out of the country on Sunday night after being seen off by his deputy Rigathi Gachagua at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
Health agreement
The first in command landed in the US on Monday and kicked off his tour. On his first day of his four-day state visit, he engaged in various activities, including signing of a health deal.
He attended a forum themed ‘Transforming the Kenya-US Health Partnership’ at the Centre for Disease Control (CDC) Headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, where he witnessed the signing of MoUs between CDC and Kenya Medical Research Institute, the Ministry of Health and the U.S President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief.

Ruto announced the signing of the deal through his official social media pages on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.
“Also witnessed the signing of MoUs between CDC and Kenya Medical Research Institute, the Ministry of Health and the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief in developing a Sustainability Roadmap for Kenya’s HIV Programme and the joint proclamation for the operationalization of the Kenya National Public Health Institute,” he posted on X.
Earlier on, the head of state met Kenyans living in the US at the Cobb Galleria Centre, Atlanta, Georgia.
He said Kenya is pursuing diaspora registration and mapping for skills and expertise which will ensure that the country secures placement of more Kenyans in productive employment abroad.
