Ruto confirms Kenya’s commitment to strengthen global cooperation
President William Ruto has announced the country’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with the rest of the world to expand trade and tackle common emerging challenges.
Speaking at the State House, Nairobi, on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, President Ruto affirmed the government’s commitment to working with other countries in various sectors. The Head of State also accepted letters of credentials from newly posted ambassadors to Kenya.
”We are enhancing cooperation with other countries across the globe to expand trade and investments, besides working together in tackling emerging challenges, for our mutual benefit and success,” President William Ruto said.

Among the newly-appointed ambassadors posted to Kenya are: Farid Ouahid Dahmane (Algeria), Katalin Nyirati (Hungary), Catherine Moe (Norway) and Yurii Tokar (Ukraine). Others are Ambassadors Gisele Fernândez Ludlow (Mexico), Hatem Yousri Hosni (Egypt), Kristina Radej (Slovenia) and Abdusalom Khatamov (Uzbekistan).
Addressing the envoys, Ruto said he welcomed the convoys, assuring them of Kenya’s commitment to strengthening the ties between the nations in areas such as climate change, education, and major project partnerships.
“I, William Samoei Ruto, do accept your letters of credence and authorise you to pursue the interests of your government within the territory of Kenya by fostering the bond of friendship and promoting to the widest possible extent within the law the aspirations of the peoples of our nations,” Ruto said.
The event was attended by Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, and other senior government officials, alongside representatives from the respective embassies.
By tradition, an ambassador presents their letter of credence, official documentation from their head of state, to the host country’s president in a formal ceremony. This act marks the beginning of their diplomatic posting and enables them to fully assume their duties in the host country.
