Deputy President William Ruto on Saturday made his return to the vote-rich region Mt. Kenya region.

The second in command popularised his bottom-up economic model in the Mt. Kenya region on a visit to the ACCS Church in Thika, Kiambu County,

DP Ruto likened his journey to that of Jesus Christ in the holy book to his bottom-up economic model that is his hustler movement.

According to DP Ruto, Jesus was brought up as a son of a peasant, born in a manger but grew up to mobilise his own followers.

“Jesus is a product of bottom-up, given he was born in a manger but grew up to mobilise his own followers,” Ruto said.

The DP advocated for the education of the country’s youth, where he said the future can only be assured if they have the right to train for the upcoming hurdles.

Ruto claimed the President lead party under the leadership had built 170 training colleges and 7 new colleges in Kiambu County.

The DP further said that it is for the government of the day to ensure the people at the bottom of the food chain rise, to enable a country to move forward.

The DP toured various parts in Thika among them Ngoliba shopping centre, Gatuanyaga shopping centre, Makongeni Posta, Kiganjo corner 2, and ACCS Church.

He was accompanied by, among others, MPs Kimani Ichung’wah (Kikuyu), Patrick Wainaina (Thika Town), Njuguna Wanjiku (Kiambaa) as well as, former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu and former Thika Town MP Alice Ng’ang’a.
