Rain to continue but ease by weekend, Kenya Met says
The Kenya Meteorological Department has issued a forecast that the country is expected to receive both rainy and hot weather conditions this week.
In their forecast, the Kenya Meteorological Department has noted that in the areas of the country, there will be more rain; however, the intensity is also predicted to decrease as the week goes on towards March 30, 2026.
The meteorological department said in a forecast report posted on their social media accounts on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, that rain will continue to fall in different parts of the country.
This will give some relief to places that have already had a lot of rain. Meteorologists say, however, that the amounts will go down by the end of the week, which could mean that the weather will become drier.
“Rainfall Outlook. Rainfall is expected to continue over several parts of the country, though amounts are likely to reduce as the week progresses,” the Kenya Meteorological Department statement read.

Large variation in temperature expected
The weather department has further indicated that the week will be characterised by a large variation in temperature. The Coast, South Eastern Lowlands, North Eastern and North Western regions should experience hot days of over 30°C.
The people living in such regions are advised to get ready for warm and humid weather, particularly midday and in the afternoons. On the other hand, lower temperatures are likely in the Central Highlands and in regions around Mount Kilimanjaro, where the temperatures will reach below 10°C.
The early-morning and late-evening chill might need warmer clothes and protection against cold-related health conditions.

The Kenya Meteorological Department has, however, encouraged people not to skip the county-specific forecasts because they can provide accurate updates and localised information, saying they will continue to offer real-time weather alerts, rainfall maps, and forecasts to guide Kenyans on how they will carry out their daily activities.
