Interior PS Raymond Omollo meets public administrators, gives firm instructions

Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo has issued firm instructions to 174 administrators pursuing a Diploma of Public Administration course at Matuga Kenya School of Government Campus.
Speaking after holding a meeting with the administrators on Sunday, August 11, 2024, Omollo informed them of the need to communicate every message from President William Ruto effectively.
Omollo emphasised that the administrators must comprehend and properly disseminate the message to the people.
Further, the PS informed the administrators that they must elaborately address public concerns and offer viable solutions.

“I urged them to understand and communicate the president’s messages accurately, elaborately address public concerns, and excel in chairing and formulating solutions through the security and intelligence teams,” PS Omollo stated.
Ruto admits to poor communication
PS Omollo’s firm instructions come days after President Ruto raised concern over poor communication and insufficient public engagement in his government, saying it cost Kenya a good transformational plan.
The Head of State stated that poor communication and inadequate public engagement have left some Kenyans unable to connect with the government programs, policies, and projects rolled out within the country.
Ruto further acknowledged that the nation has emerged from a period of immense struggle caused by a fundamental misunderstanding.
“This is about the ways and means of accomplishing what we all agree are our shared aspirations as a people: a governance that delivers security and prosperity, inclusively and sustainably,” Ruto said during the swearing-in of his new cabinet at State House, Nairobi, on Thursday, August 8, 2024.

“We did not explain ourselves better; I am sure my communication team failed, and our communication architecture did not deliver. The message did not get out to the people,” he stated.
With now Ruto pushing for proper communication of government policies and strategies, PS Omollo has decided to reinforce the move using administrators.
Nonetheless, PS Omollo challenged the administrators to acquaint themselves with proper information through training and learning in order to effectively deliver on their mandate.
