President Ruto warns against tribal divisions
President William Ruto has called on Kenyans to shun tribal politics and unite in the pursuit of national progress, saying that unity remains the foundation of a strong and prosperous country.
Speaking during the launch of the 42-kilometre Kasarani–Kongoni–Olkaria and Ndabibi access roads in Ndabibi, Nakuru County, on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, Ruto reminded citizens that Kenya’s development can only thrive when people work together beyond tribal and regional boundaries.
“Our unity is our strength. We must never allow anyone to divide us along tribal lines. Let us unite, work together and drive forward our national development agenda to build a great country we can all be proud of,” the President said.

His message comes at a time when the country continues to navigate political differences, with the President emphasising that inclusivity and cooperation across communities are essential for peace and economic stability.
The new road project, which links key agricultural and tourism areas within Nakuru County, is expected to open up opportunities for thousands of residents by easing transport, cutting travel time, and boosting trade. According to President Ruto, the road will have a direct impact on farmers, local traders, and the tourism industry around Olkaria and Naivasha.

“The project road will provide a shorter, more reliable and cost-effective link to Nakuru, improving connectivity, boosting tourism, supporting agriculture and expanding export opportunities, thereby driving local and national economic growth,” he said.
Residents welcomed the development, saying it would make it easier to access markets and attract more investment to the area. For many, the road represents more than just infrastructure; it is a symbol of inclusion and growth for rural communities that have long felt left behind.

As construction begins, President Ruto reaffirmed his administration’s focus on unity-driven development, noting that economic progress depends on collective effort and trust among Kenyans.
His call to reject tribalism and focus on shared growth resonates with his broader message that Kenya’s strength lies in its diversity, and that only a united people can build the country’s future together.
