Police recover 95 rolls of cannabis in Machakos
By David Nthua, July 14, 2026Police have recovered 95 rolls and several grams of suspected cannabis sativa during an anti-drug operation in Machakos County.
This is even as the National Police Service (NPS) intensifies its crackdown on narcotics trafficking nationwide.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, July 14, the NPS said officers caught three persons of interest after recovering the suspected drugs, which were allegedly being prepared for distribution.
“The National Police Service continues to intensify operations as part of ongoing efforts to target the distribution of illicit drugs,” the statement said.
The service noted that the operation is part of sustained efforts to disrupt the supply and distribution of illegal drugs across the country.
Three caught as police recover cannabis in Machakos
According to the NPS, officers recovered 95 rolls and several grams of suspected cannabis sativa during the Machakos operation.

Police said the suspected drugs had been prepared for distribution before they were seized.
In a separate operation in Bungoma County, officers arrested another suspect who was allegedly found in possession of 144 rolls of suspected cannabis sativa.
“All four were placed in police custody pending arraignment in court, where they will face relevant charges,” the statement added.
The NPS did not disclose the identities of the persons of interest or the exact locations where the operations were conducted.
NPS vows to dismantle drug trafficking networks
The police service reaffirmed its commitment to dismantling criminal networks involved in the production, trafficking and distribution of illegal drugs.

“The Service remains resolute in dismantling drug networks and will continue to pursue those engaged in the production, trafficking and distribution of illegal drugs,” the NPS said.
It urged members of the public to support the fight against narcotics by providing actionable information to law enforcement agencies.
