Odhiambo throws KCB players under the bus as poor run persists

KCB FC head coach Patrick Odhiambo has criticised his players following a recent run of poor results in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League.
The latest defeat for the Bankers came against Kariobangi Sharks, who defeated them 1-0 in a league contest staged at Dandora Stadium on Thursday, May 15.
This was the fourth consecutive defeat for Odhiambo’s side, which means they are now under more pressure as they must return to winning ways before the season concludes.
“Some players seem disinterested, and I can’t understand why. We need to sit down and evaluate these performances because losing matches like this is unacceptable.
“I’m not happy; I’ve reached my breaking point. The players I count on to lead have fallen short, and that complicates everything,” Odhiambo said, as quoted by a local publication.
Mental fatigue
The former Kakamega Homeboyz head coach blamed mental readiness as one of the reasons his players have failed to perform.
“The second leg is always about mental toughness, and it’s clear that many of my players have lost that edge.
“Without the right mindset, it’s difficult to deliver results, and I cannot continue fielding players who lack that hunger,” he concluded.
In the first round, KCB were among the title contestants but faded away as the league race heated up. This year, they have performed rather poorly, as they have only three wins in 16 games.
They are seventh on the log table with 41 points, and their next game will be against Bidco United on Monday, 19 May, at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.
