Nyamira names Keroka Town municipality

Nyamira county government has created a new municipality as a way of bringing services closer to area residents.


The creation of Keroka Town Municipality brings to two, municipalities in Nyamira County.
Signing the municipality’s service charter in his boardroom yesterday, governor Amos Nyaribo said Keroka town will cover Rigoma and Gesima wards as well as parts of Gachuba, Magombo and Nyansiongo wards.


“With the creation of Keroka town municipality after Nyamira town municipality, services will be brought closer to the area residents in addition to the creation of employment opportunities,” Nyaribo stated.


The County Attorney Erastus Orina, the county secretary Jack Magara, county minister in charge of lands and housing Ken Oboso and the Leader of the Majority Abel Mokaya Mose, witnessed the signing of the charter.


Nyaribo asked leaders in the county to discard their political differences and work as a team to deliver services to residents.


“This is not the time of politicking but giving services to the people who elected us,” Nyaribo stated.
He said that the he was determined to fulfill all the promises he gave them during his campaigns whether they voted for him or not.
