Top tacticians apply for Narok FC job ahead of league debut
Top local coaches have applied for the position of Narok FC head coach that was advertised on Monday as the team prepares to make a debut in the FKF Division One League next season.
According to Narok Governor Samuel Tunai, former Harambee Stars assistant coach and Bandari tactician Ken Odhiambo, former Ulinzi Stars coach Yusuf Chippo, former Posta Rangers coach John Kamau, former Kakamega Homeboyz coach Mike Mururi and immediate former Shabana coach Gilbert Selebwa are among the top tacticians to have applied for the position.
The team will officially be formed during the finals of the Tunai Cup slated for November 26 to 30 at the Narok Stadium where a total of 32 teams representing all the wards in the County will be rubbing shoulders.
The teams have been grouped in eight pools of four teams each.
“I am very committed to seeing a Narok county team playing in the Kenyan Premier League in two or three years to come,” said Tunai.
Former FKF technical director Patrick Naggi is expected to oversee the selection of the team.
Tournament coordinators Moses Ntiayi and John Koilel said the finals will be held at Narok stadium, Maasai Mara University and Maasai Girls Ground.
The winning team will take home Sh 500,000.
