MCAs in Nandi County have recommended that four top officials in the devolved unit be kicked out of office over allegations of possible theft of Covid-19 related funds amounting to more than Sh100 million.

The MCAs, following a special audit, have invited the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC) and Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to investigate the Governor Stephen Sang-led administration regarding finances allocated to fight the pandemic, and have the culprits arraigned.

Yesterday, the Assembly moved a motion to have County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Health Services Ruth Koech and her Chief Officer Dr Paul Langat be suspended and investigated over allegations of missing ICU beds, non-functioning of an oxygen plant and lack of accountability of Covid-119 funds.

Further, the House, in the motion moved by Teresia Maiyo (Nominated), indicted the Finance Executive Alfred Langat and his Chief Officer Meshack Malakwen, who were the funds accounting officers and recommended they be relieved their duties temporarily and be probed over expenditure, lack on integrity and disrespect to the Assembly.
