Muturi dismisses fake letter detailing his reaction to Cabinet dismissal

Outgoing Cabinet Secretary for Public Service and Human Capital Development, Justin Muturi, has raised alarm over a letter falsely attributed to him, claiming to be his official response to his dismissal from government.
Muturi became one of the casualties of President William Ruto’s latest Cabinet reshuffle on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, losing his position to Mbeere North MP Geoffrey Ruku.
The reshuffle also saw other Cabinet Secretaries reassigned, with Aden Duale being moved from the Environment docket to Health. Deborah Barasa was equally moved in the restructuring.
On Wednesday, March 26, 2025, Muturi took to social media to dismiss a fake letter circulating in his name, urging the public to disregard it. He is yet to publicly comment on his dismissal.
The letter stated that he has not been officially notified of being relieved of his duties and will continue in his capacity until when he gets the communication from the relevant appointing body.
Muturi’s dismissal is widely perceived as one that had been long time coming owing to his adversarial relationship with his boss.

The embattled CS’s problems started on January 12, 2025, when he boldly called out the government over the abduction of his son, Leslie Muturi, on June 22, 2024.
The incident happened at a time when cases of forced disappearance, extra-judicial killings and abductions had become rampant in the country and sparked mixed reactions in its wake.
In his latest attack and sustained criticism of the government, the CS publicly spoke on his unwillingness to join the President’s development tour in Mt Kenya region, saying the visit was not related to his ministerial duties.
Last straw
It, however, proved to be the last straw leading to his sacking this Wednesday, March 26, 2025.
The flagging of the counterfeit letter marks the second time in the month that the former lawmaker has dismissed such a letter.
On Thursday, March 13, 2025, Muturi took to his X account to dismiss a fraudulent letter making rounds on social media that he had resigned from his position.
The letter made rounds the socials just a day after Muturi maintained that he would not step down from his position despite perceived tensions with Ruto’s administration.
