Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has urged Kenya to fully harness technology and artificial intelligence (AI) as key drivers for national development and inclusive growth.

In a statement posted on his official X account on Friday, January 9, 2026, following an engagement with members of the International Memon Organisation, Mudavadi highlighted the transformative potential of technology and AI in expanding opportunities and delivering services across the country.

“As we push this agenda forward, we must deliberately harness cross-cutting forces such as technology and artificial intelligence. These tools are no longer optional; they are central to how we deliver services, expand opportunity, and scale impact,” Mudavadi stated.

Inclusive development

Mudavadi outlined the critical areas of focus for national development, including improving literacy, affordable healthcare, cultural preservation, sustainability, and community welfare.

He emphasised that leveraging technology and AI can accelerate progress in these areas, making initiatives more efficient, measurable, and impactful.

“These are all critical building blocks for inclusive growth,” the Prime Cabinet Secretary emphasised.

He also underscored the importance of maintaining peace and security as foundational pillars for development, noting that without a secure environment, efforts to leverage technology for development would be undermined.

“Peace and security remain non-negotiable. They provide the stable foundation upon which development takes root, investments thrive, and initiatives translate into real, measurable progress on the ground,” Mudavadi stated.
