Political activist Morara Kebaso has condemned the county government of Wajir over what he has termed as double expenditure on a hospital project in Wajir South constituency.

In a video shared on his X account on Friday, February 13, 2026, Morara Kebaso expressed concern that the Wajir County government had allocated over Ksh 26 million to the Sabuli health centre project.

According to Morara, the project was already in existence after being funded by the National Government Constituency Development Fund between the years 2009 and 2014. Morara has said that the NGCDF had allocated over Ksh 47 million.

“Double expenditure for the construction of Sabuli Health Centre in Wajir South. NGCDF spent Kshs47,993,132 from 18 December, 2009 to 20th May, 2014. Shockingly, the county government of Wajir allocated Kshs26,802,132 to construct the same project that had already been constructed,” Morara said.

In a move seen to condemn corruption practices within the county government of Wajir, Morara has humorously condemned the alleged double allocation of the project, saying that the NG-CDF had marked the project as complete. He lamented that the county government went ahead and allocated funds to the same projects, which denotes embezzlement of funds.

Leadership change

Morara has been intensifying civic education and calling out the government on stalled projects in the country, criticising the funding allocated to projects.  

The human rights activist has been a critic of the current regime and an advocate of youth leadership, calling on citizens to vote out the current crop of leaders and elect a youthful generation.

Morara Kebaso has asserted that the Kenyan youth is the only grouping that can dethrone President William Ruto at the ballot in 2027.

Speaking during an interview on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, Morara stated that the youth possess three requisite tools that give them the edge over Ruto.

According to Morara, the youth have demonstrated not only their resilience in withstanding state violence and intimidation but also their technological savviness, which is crucial for exposing vote manipulation and enforcing accountability.
