Millie Odhiambo responds to Oburu’s confession of secretly admiring her
Suba North Member of Parliament (MP) Millie Odhiambo has responded to Oburu Oginga’s confession of secretly crushing on her.
Speaking in Ugunja on Saturday, November 8, 2025, Millie bemoaned the fact that Oburu never mustered the courage to voice his intentions, jokingly quipping that she would have been the spouse of a party leader..
Known as the bad girl of Kenyan politics, Millie, who is now married to Zimbabwean national Mabona, decried that Oburu never voiced his interest in her.
Secret admirer
“I have heard that the ‘youth leader’ confessed that he used to admire me. I can’t believe my party leader. He just kept admiring me silently and looking at a beautiful girl like me until the Zimbabwean man made away with me. I wonder, my youth leader,” she said in her local dialect.
“Now that he is the party leader, I would have been in a good place. But it has now escaped me,” she added.

Millie’s remarks come after Oburu Oginga admitted to having a crush on the female legislator during the burial of Otieno Kajwang’s widow, Rose Otieno, in Nyanza.
Oburu cracked up mourners with his confession.
Love-struck Oburu
The veteran politician recalled how she first met the outspoken MP and the lasting impression she left on him.
“I knew Millie Gesa Gesa through Kajwang. That time, we were doing campaigns for Raila. Kajwang’ and I agreed that Raila will be doing campaigns at the national level, but we were to talk to people at the grassroots level. We were to mobilise them so they come out in huge numbers. When we went to Busia, we found that she had arranged everything: where people would sleep, what they would eat, and the platforms they would speak on. Kajwang and I were just doing politics. Millie had done everything else. I loved Millie because of that. She was so beautiful that sometimes she would confuse me. We did campaigns for Jakom with her,” Oburu recalled.
